Beastly: Magic Snake Metal Wall Relief wall decoration from Vitra For an exhibition of folk art at the HemisFair fair in San Antonio, the designer Alexander Girard created this funny snake in 1968. It was intended as a decorative element on the outside of the building as well as in the exhibition catalogue. The Magic Snake is made of powder-coated metal. During his creative period, the designer dealt with all kinds of surfaces and arranged ceilings, floors and walls. These are especially adorned by decorative elements such as the wall reliefs made of metal. They were first created by Girard for the Compound Restaurant and his house in Santa Fe.
